Here it is!! Ashley & Jason’s engagement session was captured in Downtown Rochester Hills! It was so nice to do a session right around the corner from our office, and in my new hometown city! I asked Ashley & Jason how they would feel about a more non-traditional session with a twist of lifestyle, and they were all for it!! It was great that we were able to incorporate a ton of things that both Ashley & Jason love to do. As you will see, they love beer, yes, an ice cold brewski under a red umbrella was a must in this session. Jason loves craft beers, and actually brews his own beers at home (how cool is that!), so a stop at good ol’ O’conners was a first on our agenda!!
HOLY cuteness, when I heard that Ashley LOVES to knit, I just couldn’t help, but mosey into this store with them for their session. Skeins On Main is an adorable yarn store right off Main Street in Downtown Rochester. The women that work there are just the sweetest, and allowed us to take a few pictures inside their lovely store. You know I was just goggly-eyed at all the gorgeous colors of yarn displayed on the wall, so duh, I stuck them right in front of it & snapped away!! We even got lucky with finding yarn that had close to one of their wedding colors, plum! (see the ring shot below)
Another love they share is for Antiques! We simply adored the window display at Antiques and Fine Jewelry by Pamela, so we took advantage of their gorgeous setting, and rocked it out! It ended up being on of my favorite shots from their session, isn’t it just so unique!!
Last, but certainly not least, we had to stop in to the delicious Holy Cannoli’s store. Now, this may not have been something they told me they both like, but I think they ended up finding a new shared love when they bit into these cupcakes (to-die-for)!! It was almost like they had a chance to practice for the wedding in November by feeding eachother the cake! 😉
We all had so much fun, and I was truly tempted to ditch the cooked meal waiting back at home for me to have some drinks with them instead! That’s another blessing in disguise with my dream job, I get to meet some incredible people, and not only capture forever moments in their lives, but also develop long lasting friendships in the end! I am so thankful for the clients God has presented me with in my first year of business, it has made my job that much better, and reassures me that I made the right choice! =)
